The standard is applicable to propane, propene, butane, butene and their mixtures. These gases originate from the production process and the manufacturing processes of crude oil and from a variety of petro chemical operations. They are used as raw material for chemical processes and as fuels for households, commerce and industry as well as in combustion engines of vehicles. LPG is also mixed into town gas.
