This document is applicable to valves for pressure gauges for use in pressure measuring setups for liquids, gases and vapours, with shut-off test connection, for a maximum allowable pressure of 250 bar (brass) and 400 bar (steel and stainless steel) and a maximum allowable temperature of 120 °C. Two designs are specified: Type A: with adjusting nut; Type B: with nipple connection and shaft for measuring instruments supports according to DIN 16281. This document is not applicable for sealing washers. Specifications for sealing washers are given in DIN EN 837-1. DIN 16270 applies to valves PN 250 and PN 400 without shut-off connection. DIN 16271 applies to valves PN 250 and PN 400 with test connections without shut-off function.
