This document applies to refrigerated and frozen storage equipment equipped with refrigeration equipment and operated for subsequent storage applications. This document applies to: a) blood storage refrigerators for the storage of refrigerated blood storage (blood and blood component preparations) for transfusion purposes in a set point temperature range of 4 °C; b) refrigerators for medicinal products and laboratory use for the storage of medicinal products, vaccines or products requiring refrigeration for laboratory use in a set point temperature range of +2 °C to +16 °C; c) laboratory freezers for the storage of frozen vaccines or laboratory-grade products within a set point temperature range of -45 °C to -10 °C; d) plasma storage freezers for the storage of already frozen plasma for transfusion in a set point temperature range of -45 °C to -30 °C; e) ultra-low temperature freezers for the storage of frozen products for pharmaceutical and laboratory use within a set point temperature range of -90 °C to -20 °C; f) cryogenic freezers for the storage of frozen products at cryogenic temperatures in a set point temperature range of -150 °C to -90 °C. This document applies to refrigerated and frozen storage devices intended for an installation room with an ambient temperature range according to Table 2 and a relative humidity 75%. This document does not apply to: - Cooled incubators according to DIN 12880; - refrigerated cells or refrigerated containers over 2000 l; - cooling during transport.
