Framtagande av grundläggande geodatastandarder (generiska, arkitektur, ramverk) med principer som gäller för all geodata. Geodatastandarder underlättar datautbyte och samverkan mellan aktörer.

Utgångspunkter i kommitténs arbete

  • Påverka internationell standardisering inom främst ISO/TC 211 Geographic information/Geomatics genom remisshantering och genom medverkan i ISO-arbetet, när det gagnar nationella mål

  • Påverka nationellt samt främja användingen av svensk standard inom området för att bidra till ett nationellt ramverk för geodata baserat på standarder

  • Samverka med andra ISO kommittér, OGC och andra krav exempelvis Inspire

Användning av standarder inom kommitténs omfattning

Kommittén arbetar för att främja användningen av standarder genom informationsspridning och påverkansarbete

Påverka nationellt och internationellt

Kommittén skapar ett forum för svenskt agerande i den internationella standardiseringen, genom att vi aktivt medverkar i både den europeiska och den internationella standardiseringsorganisationen CEN och ISO. På så sätt kan vi driva utvecklingen av standarderna så att de främjar svenska intressenter, ett arbete som hjälper till att skapa fri rörlighet av produkter mellan länder.
