Fästelement

Fästelement, med eller utan gängor, används av i stort sett all tillverkningsindustri där sammansättning och montering sker. Det är därför viktigt att skapa underlag för enhetlig produktinformation för att uppnå god ekonomi vid tillverkning, enkla förfaranden vid beställning, leverans och montering samt säkerställa slutfunktion och utbytbarhet hos fästelementen.

Huvudmålet för standardiseringen av gängor och gängtoleranser är att erhålla ett gängsystem som används för konstruktionsgängor världen över och vid sidan av detta, men endast där speciellt definierade och accepterade behov finns, internationellt accepterade gängsystem för speciella applikationer. Standardisering av fästelement syftar till att öka kvaliteten på samt förenkla och förbilliga de fästelementtyper som används idag. Bl.a. för att man bättre skall kunna utnyttja egenskaperna hos de material som används i fästelementen.

Arbetet med standardisering av fästelement påbörjades redan i början av 1900-talet och den första svenska standarden inom området skruvar och muttrar utgavs 1920. ISO/TC 1 som är den internationella standardiseringskommittén för gängor var den första kommittén som startades efter andra världskriget och Sverige har varit aktiva i kommittén redan från start.

Påverka nationellt och internationellt

Kommittén skapar ett forum för svenskt agerande i den internationella standardiseringen, genom att vi aktivt medverkar i både den europeiska och den internationella standardorganisationen, CEN och ISO. På så sätt kan vi driva utvecklingen av standarderna så att de främjar den svenska industrin. Företag och organisationer som deltar får möjlighet till bättre insikt i vilka krav som gäller och vilka som kommer att börja gälla, samt möjlighet att påverka dessa.

Arbetet inom SIS/TK 103 omfattar alla standardiseringsärenden inom de internationella grupperna: 
ISO/TC 1, Screw threads

ISO/TC 2, Fasteners och dess subkommittéer och arbetsgrupper

ISO/TC 5/SC 5, Threaded fittings, solder fittings, welding fittings, pipe threads, thread gauges

Samt motsvarande europeiskt standardiseringsarbete inom CEN/TC 185, Threaded and non-threaded mechanical fasteners and accessories.

Ett värdefullt arbete

I kommittén samlas expertkunskap genom representanter från tillverkare, användare, intresseorganisationer, myndigheter och övriga inom branschen. Standardiseringsarbetet ger deltagarna djupare insikt om standardernas krav och hur man resonerar kring dessa, vilket underlättar vid diskussion med olika parter inom branschen. Deltagarna är samtidigt med och påverkar framtidens standarder, vilket också leder till nya insikter och tidig information som kan omsättas i den egna verksamhetsutvecklingen.

I kommittén ges också tillfälle att diskutera tolkningar och utbyta erfarenheter med såväl kunder som konkurrenter, och etablera nya kontakter.
