This document applies to the complete field of manufacturing processes. It defines and explaines basic concepts, which are needed for the description and classification of manufacturing processes. Moreover the basis for the structure of a classification system of manufacturing processes is laid down, combined with an overview of the subdivision into main groups, groups and subgroups.
