Scope
I överensstämmelse med ISO Guide 78 stöder detta dokument regionala tekniska bestämmelser för maskinsäkerhet enligt principerna i UNECE Rekommendation L (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), International Model for Technical Harmonization). Det innehåller mindre tekniska förändringar i förhållande till den internationella standarden, med syfte att den gällande utgåvan av ISO 14122-1 ska uppfylla de grundläggande kraven i New Approach Directive 2006/42/EG för maskiner, vilket ersätter New Approach Directive 98/37/EG och träder ikraft 2009-12-29 utan någon övergångstid.
