Scope
g. in DIN 4102 part 4, this standard offers the possibility to test fire protection measures which are easier and can better be put into practice. This standard does not exclude the use of the present fire protection measures. The standard lays down definitions, requirements and tests relating to fire protection technology for measures against the spread of fire in pipe lines - if appropriate including their insulating layers and claddings - and in service shafts and ducts as well as door of inspection openings. The service shafts and ducts and the pipe claddings and seals respectively must by themselves prevent the spread of fire and smoke to other storeys or through fire-resistant walls during the fire resistance time.

Subjects
