This document is applicable for the planning, execution and maintenance of waterproofing of balconies, loggias and walkways for new construction, maintenance and renovation with waterproofing materials in sheet form and liquid applied. Coatings with the surface protection systems OS 8, OS 10 or OS 11 in accordance with the guideline for the protection and repair of concrete components (RL SIB) or TR Instandhaltung can also be used in the area of balconies, loggias and walkways. The application is regulated in the informative Appendix A. This coating is also a measure against the penetration of concrete attacking or corrosive substances into concrete components and to increase the resistance to mechanical impacts on areas close to the surface. Coatings are not waterproofing in the sense of this document.
