This document specifies requirements for the waterproofing of non-utilized and utilized roofs against rainwater. It specifies the effects to be taken into account as well as planning and implementation principles. Together with DIN 18531-2, DIN 18531-3 and DIN 18531-4, this document is applicable for the planning and execution of the waterproofing of roofs during new construction, maintenance and renovation. DIN 18531-5 is applicable for the planning, execution and maintenance of the waterproofing of balconies, loggias and arcades.
