Renewable fuels – Sweden, a small country with high ambitions

Sweden has a goal of reducing climate-impacting emissions from domestic transport, except domestic flights, by at least 70% by 2030 compared with 2010. To achieve this ambitious goal, renewable fuels are needed. What is the role of standardization of fuels in this context?

We are becoming increasingly dependent on extremely well-defined fuels, and for that, common standards are a prerequisite. In addition to ambitious climate goals, there are European requirements in the Renewable and Fuel Quality Directives and in the emission legislation to live up to.

On May 21-24, European fuel experts will meet in Stockholm for meetings within the European standardization committee CEN / TC 19, "Gaseous and liquid fuels, lubricants and related products of petroleum, synthetic and biological origin".

In connection with these meetings, SIS and the Swedish committees for the standardization of liquid and gaseous fuels want to invite you to a half-day seminar, on May 20, to talk about the challenges and opportunities that we in Sweden see in reaching the emission target. During this half day we will hear representatives from the authorities, the Government Offices, the research community and the industry.

Moderator is Eva Iverfeldt, Senior Technical Manager Fuels, Scania CV, Chair of SIS/TK 415 Automotive fuels.

The seminar will be held in English and is free of charge. No show will be charged SEK 500.
