This document specifies requirements for floor indicators and describes requirements for "other guidance elements" with the aim of achieving safety and mobility for blind and visually impaired people in public spaces. For planning and construction, this document identifies typical basic situations with standard solutions, compliance with which is intended to create the uniformity required for safe orientation. This document applies to new buildings. It should be applied mutatis mutandis to the planning of conversions or modernizations.
