This standard contains rules for the application of mechanical fasteners according to DIN EN 14566:2009-10 for gypsum plasterboard systems in buildings. For special applications, e. g. in the field of fire protection (DIN 4102-4) and sound insulation (DIN 4109-33), the required characteristics are given. This standard is applicable for - heat-treated steel dry wall screws which are used for the mechanical screwing of gypsum plasterboards according to DIN 18180, DIN EN 14190, DIN EN 15283-1, DIN EN 15283-2 und DIN EN 520 in accordance with the specifications of DIN 18181; - staples and nails for fixing gypsum plasterboards according to DIN 18180, DIN EN 14190, DIN EN 15283-1, DIN EN 15283-2 and DIN EN 520 to substructures or other materials which can be fixed by nails according to the specifications of DIN 18181.
