This document specifies requirements, performance criteria and test methods for the rehabilitation of pipe joints in existing vitrified clay wastewater pipes and sewers, which ensure the production of long-term tight flexible joints. The document applies to vitrified clay pipe systems with push-in joints of nominal sizes DN 150 to DN 600, where the seal in the pipe connection has not yet been made in the factory and has been executed, for example, by means of clay slurry, grouts and rolling rings on the construction site. This document applies to pipes that have been in the ground for many years, where settlements and movements due to rearrangement of the bedding soils (new construction) have already been completed and no structural damage (cracks, fractures, etc.) is present at any point. This document does not apply to the removal of static or operational damage to pipelines (fractures, sharding, erosion, etc.). Outside of this standard, other procedures for the rehabilitation of vitrified clay sewers and drains may be applied. This document uses the term rehabilitation as a generic term to the definitions of renewal, renovation and repair contained in Wastewater Engineering. This enables the user to make the necessary technical and economic assessments.
