El- och hybridfordon

I automobilens barndom var eldrift mycket vanligt. Eldriften blev utkonkurrerad av fossila drivmedel och först nu, ett sekel senare, ser vi ut att få uppleva det stora genombrottet för el- och hybridteknologin. Denna gång på en sofistikerad tekniknivå med nya koncept, men med stort behov av plattformar i form av standarder.

En drivlina som bygger på hybridteknik, bestående av elmotorer och förbränningsmotor, är för närvarande det främsta konceptet för att optimera ett fordons energianvändning och minimera utsläppen.

Standardiseringen av elfordon inom ISO har pågått sedan mitten av 1990-talet. Omkring 2002 lade man till hybridfordonen, med eller utan extern laddning. IEC:s standardisering av elfordon startade med eldrivna truckar och man lade senare till elbilarna. SIS/TK 517 bildades 2008 för att samla och intensifiera de svenska insatserna i standardiseringen.
