Livsmedel och foder

Vi vill naturligtvis känna oss trygga i att den mat vi äter och det foder som ges till djuren är fritt från skadliga föroreningar och tillsatser. Samtidigt ska inte provning och godkännande i olika instanser göra maten onödigt dyr. Kommitténs arbete bidrar till att foder och livsmedel kan produceras och kontrolleras på ett säkert och enhetligt sätt.

Kommittén för livsmedel och foder är med och aktivt påverkar innehållet i framtida standarder, både globalt och inom Europa. Standarderna för kemiska, biologiska och sensoriska analysmetoder används i laboratorier, som provar och kontrollerar livsmedel och foder. Krav på livsmedelskedjan från jord till bord finns i ISO 22000 Ledningssystem för livsmedelssäkerhet och andra standarder är på gång inom livsmedelssäkerhet, som täcker in både faroanalys, HACCP och olika produktionsprocesser. De kan enkelt användas tillsammans med ISO kvalitetsstandarder och ska underlätta för mindre producenter att exportera och hålla nere kostnaderna för produktion, provning och godkännande av livsmedel, till gagn för såväl konsumenter som små producenter.
