Skyddskläder

Skyddskläder behövs i många yrken från arbeten i kylrum till brandbekämpning. Andra exempel är skyddskläder för god synbarhet vid vägarbeten, för kemikalieskydd liksom överlevnadsdräkter och dykardräkter för marin miljö och för olika typer av sportutövning. Standarderna som utarbetas inom kommittén vid typprovning och CE-märkning enligt förordningen om personlig skyddsutrustning.

Skyddskläder används i en rad sammanhang där det finns risk att drabbas av skador på grund av kyla, värme, flammor, kemikalier, mekanisk påverkan med mera. Kommittén arbetar både med skyddskläder för yrkesbruk, som varselkläder, kemskydd, knäskydd och liknande, och skydd för fritidsbruk, som sportskydd och flyvästar. Den svenska kommitténs syfte är att bevaka och påverka fortsatt utveckling av både europeiska harmoniserade standarder inom området och internationella standarder. Eftersom Sverige globalt sett har en ledande position inom skyddsklädersegmentet är det viktigt att vi lämnar vårt bidrag vid utarbetandet av dessa standarder, och att skyddsfunktionerna blir anpassade för svenska förhållanden. .

De prioriterade målen med kommittéarbetet är alltså att:

  • medverka till att ta fram skyddskläder som ger en acceptabel skyddsnivå
  • påverka utformningen av europastandarder som styr de legala minimikraven på skyddens kvalitet, och funktion.
