Textil

Vi förväntar oss att de kläder och textilier vi finner i butikerna inte innehåller kemikalier som är farliga för oss (allergiframkallande eller cancerogena). Det är också en självklarhet att barnkläder inte ska utgöra någon fara för det lilla barnet. Då vi tvättar våra kläder vill vi inte att plagget tappar färg, noppar sig eller ändrar form. Inom textilstandardiseringen arbetar vi därför aktivt med att ta fram standarder inom dessa områden, bland mycket annat.

Standardiseringen i textil är ett stort område som spänner över allt från storleksmärkning, säkerhet i barnkläder, till tvättråd, provningsmetoder för att detektera kemikalier och miljöaspekter. Textil används inte bara till kläder, utan även till exempel inom sjukvård, fordon, möbel- och heminredningssektorn.

Standarder underlättar i internationell kommunikation, vid produktutveckling, tillverkning, inköp och användande av produkter. De främjar även förhöjd produktkvalitet och reducerar reklamationer. Standarder leder också till att produkter blir säkrare t.ex. genom minskat innehåll/tillsättning av farliga kemikalier.

SIS/TK 160 Textil och dess arbetsgrupper deltar aktivt och speglar arbetet i drygt 40 olika arbetsgrupper inom textil på såväl europeisk nivå (CEN) som global nivå. (ISO) Detta för att få så harmoniserad kravnivå möjligt över landsgränserna/marknaderna. Idag finns det drygt 400 publicerade standarder inom TK 160 Textil arbetsområde.

Ett värdefullt arbete

I kommittén samlas expertkunskap genom representanter från textilföretag, provningslaboratorier, intresse- /branschorganisationer, forskningsinstitut, högskola/universitet och myndighet.

Standardiseringsarbetet ger deltagarna djupare insikt om standardernas krav och hur man resonerar kring dessa, vilket underlättar vid diskussion mellan olika parter inom branschen. Deltagarna är samtidigt med och påverkar framtidens riktlinjer och standarder, vilket också leder till nya insikter och tidig information som kan omsättas i den egna verksamhetsutvecklingen.

Den pågående mandaterade standardiseringen inom risker i barns sovmiljö;  EN 16779, 16780 och EN 16781, som är kopplad till EU´s produktsäkerhetsdirektiv är ett bra exempel på detta.

SIS/TK 160 svarar och kommenterar också på relevanta remisser inom området från Europeiska Kommissionen direkt/via Konsumentverket, Kommerskollegium.
