Svetsteknik

Svetsade konstruktioner ser vi i vardagen överallt, i byggnader, broar, fordon och rörledningar med mera. Bristande kvalitet i svetsningsarbetet kostar pengar genom reparationer. De samhälleliga konsekvenserna kan vara ännu allvarligare i form av personskador, havererad infrastruktur eller samhällsservice. Kommittén skapar förutsättningar för kvalitetssäkring vid svetsning

Kommittén är ett forum för experter inom svetsning. De är med och aktivt påverkar innehåll och riktlinjer för framtida standarder, både globalt och nationellt. Standarderna syftar till att säkerställa kvaliteten i svetsade konstruktioner. Standarderna omfattar svetsarens kompetens genom svetsarprövning och metoder att säkerställa kvaliteten i svetsningsförfarandet genom procedurkontroll. Andra standarder säkerställer att svetsutrustningen har rätt prestanda och arbetsmiljö vid svetsningsarbetet. För konstruktörer finns standard med kvalitetsklasser. En standardserie för kvalitetssäkring vid svetsning tar ett helhetsgrepp och beskriver hur man bygger ett kvalitetsledningssystem för svetsning. Det skapar förutsättningar för rätt kvalitet vid svetsning, säkra anläggningar och lägre underhållskostnader.

Påverka nationellt och internationellt

Kommittén samlar experter för svenskt agerande i den internationella standardiseringen. Vi samarbetar med Svetskommissionen och medverkar aktivt i både europeisk standardisering inom CEN och internationellt inom ISO. Vi kan driva utvecklingen av standarderna så att de främjar svenska intressen. Gemensamma standarder är viktiga för att säkerställa säkra anläggningar med jämförbar kvalitet oberoende av ingående komponenters ursprung. Det innebär samtidigt likartade konkurrensvillkor för producenter i olika länder.

Ett värdefullt arbete

I kommittén samlas expertkunskap genom representanter från materialtillverkare, ackrediterade kontrollorgan, provningslaboratorier, anläggningsägare och myndigheter. Arbetet är indelat i arbetsgrupper med specifika arbetsområden. Experter från Svetskommissionen leder arbetsgrupperna. Genom att medverka får deltagarna djupare insikt om den tekniska utvecklingen inom området, standardernas krav och deras tillämpning. Deltagarna är samtidigt med och påverkar framtidens standarder, vilket också leder till nya insikter.
