This document specifies requirements for fuel oils for heat production. The oils include distillate oil types
(Eo1, Eo2 and Eo3A) and heavier fuel oils (Eo3B, Eo4, Eo5, Eo6). The requirements cover properties,
sampling and test methods.
Additional requirements for certain properties may need to be ensured for uses of fuel oil other than for
heat production, such as for engine operation. See informative
Annex A.
NOTE In this document, “% (m/m)” and “% (V/V)” are used to express mass fraction and volume fraction,
respectively.
