Manuals and tools

SIS develops and publishes a variety of books and tools designed to help you in the interpretation and application of standards. These may be in the form of a manual, an online service or a check list, that explains the best way to comply with a standard. You are given concrete proposals as to how to meet the specific demands that may be made in standards and specifications. For instance, our manuals may feature references to legal wording or contain samples of legislation, directives and statutes. They can also contain templates or take the form of check lists that can be used in your day-to-day operations.

SIS manuals are developed by authors and experts who are actively involved in the standardization process and well versed in its intricacies. Occasionally, the decision to produce a manual is taken by the committee responsible for developing standards in a specific area. SIS also publishes guide documents produced by the European and global standardization organizations CEN and ISO.

SIS offers manuals and tools that address many different areas and requirements. They can provide the answers to many questions, such as how to:

  • implement and operate management systems
  • satisfy specific safety requirements
  • measure the size and performance of products
  • satisfy the demands made on the content and form of services
  • manage the secure exchange of data and information
  • use concepts and symbols.
