Who certifies and awards CE symbols?

SIS does not conduct any certification programme. At Swedac (Swedish Board for Accreditation and Conformity Assessment), you can check who is qualified to issue certificates within your field.

Certification of management systems or products requires that the organization in question permits an audit by an external and impartial body, to determine whether it conforms  to the requirements specified in the relevant standards.

SIS is not involved in CE certification. For more information, please contact Konsumentverket (Swedish Consumer Agency).

The CE symbol indicates that the manufacturer or importer guarantees that the product satisfies EU safety requirements for the specific item. Products for which CE certification is typically sought include toys, home appliances, life-jackets, crash helmets and similar personal safety equipment.
